Pulitzer Prize winner and best-selling author Geraldine Brooks wrote for The Wall Street Journal, where her beats included Bosnia, Somalia and the Middle East. Her fiction debut, Year of Wonders: A Novel of the Plague, was a 2001 Notable Book of the Year for The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Chicago Tribune. She was awarded the 2006 Pulitzer Prize for fiction for her second novel, March (Viking/ Penguin, 2005). Her latest book is People of the Book (Penguin/Viking, 2008). She and her husband, author Tony Horwitz, live in Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts.
